For years you’ve walked our trails, stayed in our cottages, soaked in our hot tubs and made memories on our farm. Now, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to enjoy Fossil Hills in a whole new way — under a sky full of stars, right at the water’s edge.

Your group gets the campsite, the entire space, for yourselves.

Booking Terms

Camping: General Rules

  • Pets are welcome.
  • No open fires, music, motorbikes, fireworks or firearms allowed.

Liability

  • Fossil Hills Campsite accepts no responsibility for injuries, harm, losses or damages of any nature while visiting or using the facilities.
  • All facilities are used at your own risk.
  • Occupants and visitors indemnify Fossil Hills Campsite, its members and employees against any responsibility or liability of any nature.

Arrival and Departure

  • Arrival from 12:00.
  • Departure before 10:00.
  • Alternative times may be arranged.

Campsite Limits

  • Maximum of 30 people per campsite.
  • Maximum of 2 vehicles per campsite.
  • Visitors must be arranged with management.

Behaviour and Conduct

  • Visitors are accountable for any breakages or losses.
  • Please consider other campers.
  • Smoking in the toilets is prohibited.

Water Safety

  • Dam water and tap water are not suitable for drinking.

Children

  • Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult at the lapa at all times.
  • Parents are responsible for the behaviour and safety of their children.

Fire Safety

  • Use only designated braai facilities.
  • Never leave fires unattended.
  • A fire extinguisher is available at the lapa for emergencies.

Wildlife and Environment

  • All wild animals are protected and may be dangerous.
  • No feeding of animals.
  • Respect the environment and avoid harming plants or damaging fences.

Water and Speed

  • Do not waste water.
  • Keep to the 20 km per hour speed limit.
  • Normal traffic rules apply.

Cleanliness

  • Campsites and ablution facilities must be kept neat and clean.
  • Please use the rubbish bins provided.
  • Extra black bags are available on request.

Payments

  • A 50 percent deposit is required when making a reservation.
  • The full amount must be paid before arrival.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancelling 14 or fewer days before arrival results in full forfeiture of the deposit.
  • Cancelling 15 to 30 days before arrival results in forfeiture of 50 percent of the deposit.
  • A R100 administration fee applies to all refunds.
  • A medical certificate may be requested for refunds due to illness or death.
